Kim Vassaur Freeman
Founder Kim Vassaur Freeman has been in the estate sale business for more than 30 years. She will treat your estate as if it were her own, going the extra mile to meet your goals for liquidation.
Working with estates—valuing them, buying them, selling them, collecting them— has been a hobby and passion for Kim Vassaur Freeman for as long as she can remember. Raised in an extended family with a passion for antiquing, Kim has been an avid collector since she was old enough to walk. Her first antique purchase with her own money happened at the tender age of 18. Two of her aunts, who made their living as antique dealers, immersed Kim in their world of assessing, buying, and selling. “It’s in my blood, in my DNA,” Kim laughs. “I eat, sleep, and breathe it. Always have.”

Kim was able to put her knowledge to use when her then-future mother-in-law interviewed her to see if she would be the right mistress for The Elms, a historic Arkansas home that Kim and her new husband would eventually inherit. The Elms was built in 1866 by Dr. Samuel Jordon Jones and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. She wanted to know whether Kim could manage the household, which included a working farm. She wanted assurance that Kim had the right appreciation for the home and its heritage. She wanted assurance that Kim would be honor the home’s historic past while repositioning it to thrive into the next millennium. “It was an intimidating moment,” Kim remembers. “But I knew that being mistress of the house also meant being mistress of the hundreds of valuable antiques in the home.”

Since then, the estate sale business has come naturally, almost as an instinct. But it’s instinct firmly rooted in research. People marvel at Kim’s ability to accurately appraise the value of items. What they don’t see is her relentless obsession with the markets. “I’m buying and selling all the time,” Kim admits. “I love using that knowledge to help my clients get the most value from their estate.”

What started as a hobby has blossomed into much more. Today, Kim Freeman is one of Arkansas’ most sought-after estate sales experts. And her passion for buying and selling has morphed into a retail operation. “I’ve been buying, selling, and collecting for so long that opening a store was the next logical step,” Kim adds.
